Dead Poets Society (1989)

I've just watched this movie for the third time, and it gets to me after each ending. It's a story about how a bunch of boys in a strict private school find a way to be themselves for once because of their new English teacher, played by Robin Williams in one of his most serious roles. Throughout the movie, the boys learn how to go after what they want and how to seize the day, or "carpe diem." It will make you laugh, and it will definitely make you cry. The movie definitely doesn't have the happiest of endings, but it has one of the most powerful endings that I have ever seen. No sappy happy crap, just one last action of the boys standing up for what they believe in. If you like great, intellectual films, then you will definitely like this one. It may even change your views on a few things.
